Last one of the year and it’s definitely influenced by the Mediterranean (where I’ve decamped to for a week). I visited Villa Arson for the first time today and it’s doing what the Barbican should do with art education / even if Marty Supreme is basically a film about toxic masculinity, the soundtrack is amazing and I hope it wins lots of awards for it / you know things are bad when Silicon Valley signs manifestos / this long read about plastic surgery and choice feminism is amazing / apparently when architect Osamu Ishiyama tried to make a dome from the Dome Cookbook in the 1970s it leaked and when he wrote in to complain, they replied with ‘enjoy the rain’ / the echo-cathedrals of Louis le Roy in the Netherlands are really something, or nothing depending on your point of view / a new film about AI made it to Sundance / a great read about being a design critic / on the impact of the British Raj and theosophy on how we teach yoga today.
Thank you for those of you who wrote in to say you enjoyed these, made my day. Happy New Year and let’s do it all over again in 2026.
