Last week was a bit emosh, but hey, the show must go on.
I am not reassured by HSBC closing a 160 year old management training programme / I was really pleased to find out a bit more about Adrienne Górska who helped Eileen Gray understand architecture / to think people used to name their businesses after the local coffee house / the King Charles III Coastal path looks interesting for next year perhaps / friends told me about the German ‘marriage loans‘ / i watched a Fei-Fei Li lecture and I continue to be impressed by technologists’ blinkered focus on designing totally the wrong things for homes / I picked up a copy of Accattone and I’m loving it / lots of people have left big tech and starting new abstract sounding companies like Archetype / I prefer user error to wetware or meatspace personally / do we know what happened to Ben Russell (author of the Headmap manifesto) / I’m glad someone has written about the biopolitics of the Lloyd Hotel in Amsterdam / this piece about forgiveness is interesting but I’m still not sure I believe in it.
In social news, I know I said I’d join an online dating app but I lasted three miserable days and it’s one of those things I’ve decided to give up on. More Sinead, less Bridget Jones from now on.
In job seeking news, I got my 10th rejection last week. Am taking myself to Nice for betwixmas and will rethink my strategy.
