Sunday Scraps #103

Time marches on. It’s my birthday next month so I tend to rush around to ‘get things done’ before all my numbers change. With that in mind, this is a longer list than usual as there are many tabs to close.

I had totally forgotten about IBM’s Watson but it’s so funny to read it had terrible UX / all I want for Christmas is for someone to take me out to see some jazz / a friend’s flight was cancelled because of a drone sighting so I should probably read up on them / I asked an open question about people’s heating habits / Grade Solomon‘s photography reminds me of Alec Soth‘s / on rewilding the internet / I could tell something had happened because the front of his house on Railton Road wasn’t as filled with bike parts, so I was sad to hear Sam The Wheels died this summer / I was listening to Michael Pollan’s book when I learnt about George Washington Carver who developed new ways to address soil depletion post-abolition / a fun article about the social status of sailors / a new word / the Relational Project Academy makes me think we need to revisit social studies classes for children / a list of space providers in 2015 should teach us something about the city / it’s COP30 and it’s sad we don’t have more fringe events going on so making an effort to go to the ones organised by Lambeth and my friend Zung / heading to Thingscon in a few weeks and will try to get back on a (Dutch) bike.

In job search news, I’m applying to a CEO role next week and possibly speaking to someone else about a leadership role in a consultancy. My contract at the Energy Systems Catapult ends soon so I have to line up the next thing. If you’d like to talk to me about what I could do with/for you, don’t be shy. I don’t bite, I just bark. Just kidding, I howl.
