This New Yorker article about children who go ‘no contact’ made me think a lot about my own experience so I might write about it some day / I finally got round to watching Showgirls and The Piano Teacher / I had some garibaldi biscuits for the first time / we need more niche digital design conferences like Typographics / didn’t know the author of the poem Invictus contributed to the popularity of Rodin and Whistler and was the inspiration for Long John Silver / I’m not a dev but distributed ledgers for health records sounds weird / the more I stare at charts that claim that some things are alive and some aren’t, the more I want organic chemistry classes in primary schools / I have a moratorium on buying cookbooks but I might make an exception for this Patience Gray classic.
In social news, I’m dropping by the UAL LCC degree show and have both a Restart Project and Working Class Creatives board meetings.
In job seeking news, a few things have landed. The first is a 10 week project acting as a project manager for a client I’ve worked with many times. I’m also finalising a conversation about a contract which would kick in after that. I much prefer full time work but it’s ok. Keeping the wolves from the door focuses the mind.
