Sunday Scraps #91

Junkyard Dogs looks very good but grim / this piece of investigative journalism about the real story behind the Salt Path heroes deserves a Netflix doco / this Filipino bakery in Battersea is amazing / was poet David Whyte the OG ‘mental health and wellbeing at work’ guru? / the interesting landscape work of Colombian practice connatural / as a lapsed Canadian, I should probably go check out Wolford Chapel at some point / the reuse practice Local Works Studio is interesting / I should read the government’s newly published Technology Adoption Review / the purple economy framework is interesting and all about care / the beauty of Nelly Robert’s hand painted orchids / is it a building site or is it a pop-up restaurant? neither, it’s a circus act / an old BBC Horizon show about a very hard maths problem was fascinating / adding the travel book l’Usage du Monde to my neverending list / can AI deceive or are we too tired to ask questions? / the safest way to cross the road according to Lin Yilin / I missed Christian Marclay’s Doors when it was in London so am I really going to have to go see it in New York?

In social news, I’ve been going back to jiving recently thanks to Julie Miranda’s fabulous classes and I volunteered at the Herne Hill Velodrome , helping them run their café in a heatwave. It was warm but lovely. It’s Mediale‘s in person board meeting next week which is exciting and I’m heading to Bath to contribute to a workshop for an AHRC funded project.

In job seeking news, I have up to 4 short term contracts that may or may not materialise. I do need to invoice this month so I hope one of them crystallises soon.  In full time roles, I’m looking at the CEO role at ARIA, Director of Innovation and Digital at the National Grid. I’ll go for a walk now. Happy Tuesday!
