Not sure why but i like this idea and its premise but there’s something to be said about the way that the project Objects of Virtual Desire addresses bridging the gap between virtual and real life relationships.

Fascinating site and concept! What is so intriguing for me is using replica of real memory-laden products such as gifts to support a virtual identity on the net – adding a degree of reality to the virtual, constructed personas. It also works as a sign of value or trust to friends or the giver of the products. I am wondering how this might change the virtual environments of our games or communities to even more committed comunities or relationships, adding the custom-produced relica to bought or barted virtual objects.
