So I&#8217;m now ready to face the inevitable question from <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/live\/seKIPt5Ywv4?feature=shared\">The West Wing<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Basically, from May 12th <strong>I&#8217;m available for freelance work until the right full time opportunity presents itself.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Freelance services:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Interim Head of Research<br \/>\n<\/strong>If you want to set up an R&amp;D function in your business, I can help you think about how you might do that successfully and what good looks like. I set up an R&amp;D team at Bulb Energy in 2017-8 and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.designswarm.com\/books\/\">wrote a book<\/a> about innovation.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Project or Programme management<\/strong><br \/>\nThe last time I did this in 2023, I had 50 vendors\/partners to manage on a tight multi million pound budget. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.designswarm.com\/blog\/2021\/11\/on-project-managing\/\">It went well and the client was happy<\/a>.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Independent funding assessor<\/strong><br \/>\nI&#8217;ve been an assessor for AHRC, EU Horizon 2020, Innovate UK, EIT Digital, EIT Fintech. If you&#8217;re applying for funding, i&#8217;ll happily look at your application too and give you my perspective.<\/li>\n<li><strong>General business advice for creative business owners<\/strong><br \/>\nMy experience working with teams of 4-120 means I have some views on everything from HR policies, employment contracts to IP and operations.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>In terms of full time roles, I&#8217;m really going to focus on leadership roles in the C-Suite for small to medium organisations that ideally are working on climate related things.
