Stint (august 2005 - june 2006)

As more and more environmental problems challenge the way we live and design for people, we seem to also be advocating the importance of services as a mean to not only empower and tap into individual knowledge and skills but also reduce the strain on our planet by sharing and community use of services. This however says nothing about our ability to design for shared use, to reduce by sharing what nust one cosider in the design process. In a society used to considering sharing as something that applies to white goods or people-based services, could this expand to high tech objects, which are an important source of waste and obsolete objects? Can we make people care more about these objects or share them? This is the very basic premise of my thesis.
