TAKON (spring 2002)

When asked to redesign the remonte control, my thoughts tuned to the healthy habits I was brought up with as a kid. With limited access to television I was more encouraged to read or draw and expand my creative skills. I therefore designed a remote control that would give children access to certain channels that the parents approved of while still giving them a sense of choice and being able to "scan" through 3 channels. This encourages the parent to be an active participant in the childs TV habits and be there to put perspective on its content. The adult still has access to all the usual functionalities and the overlay can snap on the front as well as at the back.
